When I sit in the Adath sanctuary, I frequently focus on the eternal light (ner tamid) above the bima, as well as on the tall cedar tree outside our sanctuary window. The eternal light reminds me that we are always protected. The eternal light is still, but powerful. The tall cedar tree shows me that there is strength in moving flexibly even during storms. Being in the sanctuary restores confidence and hope.
