One Book One Jewish Community

This year’s selection is The Last Watchman of Old Cairo by Michael David Lukas, a richly textured well researched novel tracing the multi generational family history of a Berkeley student, the son of a Jewish mother and a Muslim father. One day, a mysterious package arrives on his doorstep, pulling him into a mesmerizing adventure. The actual discovery of the medieval documents of the Cairo Geniza in 1897 is woven into the story.

Event will take place in the sanctuary. Egyptian inspired nosh will be served in the social hall.
